Monday with Meakin – a Butterfly & a Bee

It's been a long, dreary and wet weekend. Rain throughout the area caused us to postpone our petite weekend get-away that included a couple of French restaurants until later in the month. Mother Nature has a very strange sense of humor. We would get downpours, followed by long patches of sunshine as a tease to make us think the rains had ended, then the rain would return and start the process all over again. These photos cheered me up and I hope they will you as well. That pesky bee tried to follow me in the house yesterday with my bouquet of "his" flowers. He's a very possessive little fellow.

This will be linked to Garden Tuesday at Sidewalk Shoes.

Happy Monday everyone.

  10. I had the same thing happen to me, with the bees that wanted the hydrangeas I was bringing in. Hungry little buggers!
Please tell Meakin his photos are spectacular! I can almost smell those flowers. :-)

  12. I am very tired of this weather Sam. It is another rainy, dreary and cool day. This can't be August in the South. Meakin's pictures are divine.

  13. Nice post, Sam and pretty photos, Meakin! We need rain, it has been like fall here, but starting to warm up a little now. I've never seen as many bees and flies as we've had this summer. Weird cool summer! Hope it's sunny by you now!

  22. Fantastic photos. I tried to take some of that one with the orange and blue on Sunday. I'm not sure how they turned out, but I don't think they are as good as yours!

  23. Dear Sam, The weather here has been either chilly or much too warm. It just hasn't really felt like summer, or maybe I just have not gotten into the swing of it yet. (I better hurry)!
The pictures are very beautiful and cheery. Your vacation will be something to look forward too and that is always nice to have.
    Blessings dear. Catherine xo
